Our Story

'My Little Havana (MLH) is one of Brisbane's most loved Dance Academy's since 2016. Known for great cultural events, great dance & music education, awesome people & welcoming community, MLH is a passion project of founder
Jo Anne Zamora Gante, professional performer, former musician and Latin music tours and events producer.

The Academy was formalised in May 2016 and to this day provides Latin Dance courses for Beginners to Advanced levels, in Latin Dance styles of Cuban Salsa (Casino), Rueda de Casino, Rumba Guaguanco, Son Cubano, Cha Cha Cha & other Latin Dance styles at the principal location in Hawthorne, Brisbane,

The marriage of music, dance & community is at the heart of what we do and is what makes the Academy unique. My Little Havana is the only Latin dance academy that interweaves Cuban music and cultural education into the curriculum, together with unique events and tours to Cuba.
